The Bed and Breackfast is immersed in the Sassi di Rocca Malatina park: 2,300 hectares of protected territory nestled in the rolling hills of Modena, a gentle landscape in the Emilian Apennines made up of ancient chestnut groves, woods and cultivated fields, in the centre of which the arenaceous spires of the Sassi stand out imposingly.
Orchids, anemones, bellflowers, lilies and cyclamens colour the undergrowth and clearings, where badgers, porcupines, foxes and roe deer also find their place.
Exploring nature
More than 100 kilometres of trails can be used by visitors on foot, horseback or by bike. The park's 14 itineraries offer a wide range of choices: from simple walks lasting a few minutes to hiking trails lasting several hours through narrow gorges, forests, cliffs, clearings, cultivated fields, chestnut groves and rural settlements.
There is no shortage of short via ferrata routes, or paths that are only permitted with a guide through the most protected areas.
